Job Description
Locum Ready is currently seeking a Locum Practice Nurse to join a well-established GP practice in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Practice Nurse looking for flexible locum shifts with excellent pay in a professional and supportive primary care setting.
As a Locum Practice Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, including chronic disease management, immunisations, wound care, cervical cytology, and general health screenings. You will work closely with GPs and the wider clinical team to deliver outstanding healthcare services.
This role offers up to 4 days a week, and multiple locum nurses can be considered if required.
Hourly Rate:
£25 – £35 per hour (dependent on experience and skillset).
Job Requirements:
- Registered Practice Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a GP practice or primary care setting.
- Competency in chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension).
- Experience in childhood immunisations, travel vaccinations, cervical cytology (smear tests), and wound care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with EMIS, SystmOne, or Vision (training can be provided if required).
- Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to obtain one).
Working Days and Hours:
- Up to 4 days a week (flexible schedule).
- Available shifts: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, or full-day shifts.
- No weekend work required, but additional shifts may be available.
